Josie Hassan

Childbirth Educator, Registered Nurse, Midwife and Lactation Consultant

My name is Josie and I am a registered nurse, midwife, certified lactation consultant and certified childbirth educator. I am also a mother to four beautiful and busy boys, so I understand the journey of pregnancy, birth and beyond. I know how hard it can be to be overloaded with information and struggle to make an informed decision that works for you.

I am passionate about helping couples alleviate their anxiety about the unknown. Helping them build up their confidence in the whole birthing experience. Giving couples the tools to work though their pregnancy, birth, post natal and breastfeeding journey as a partnership providing them with the foundations to make it a safe and comfortable experience as an individual as opposed to a one-for-all approach.

I struggle seeing women having to make decisions whilst they were in the most precious, vulnerable moments of their lives. I have been teaching prenatal and breastfeeding classes for over ten years through private and public hospitals. Now its time for us to share our knowledge and experiences by branching out and offering more in-depth classes and sessions through our personal classes. I have appreciated my time teaching in hospitals and the beautiful families I have met along the way; however I feel it is time to start a new and exciting adventure.

Birthing is a beautiful and natural process and doesn’t need to be complicated. I do believe that medicalising births can better some outcomes, but it’s still important to understand the whys and how’s. Our classes will offer you the information from different angles so you are able to understand these things a little clearer.

Cate Rodda

Registered Nurse, Registered Midwifery Practitioner

Hello, I am Cate, a mother of three humans and a collector of K’9s. I enjoy sunshine, exercise, meditation and love an adventure.

I graduated from nursing in 2006, midwifery in 2010 and then continued and completed pharmacology, prescribing and diagnostics in 2013. I have worked in hospitals, community, private practice as well as midwifery group practice.

My philosophy on birth is that birth is a miracle that marks a pivotal transition in a woman’s life. Birth is a natural, primal, physiological process that deserves respect and honouring.

The birth experiance teaches women important, life changing lessons that can change her perception of who she is and what she can achieve. Pregnancy, birth and emerging motherhood can be a time of great vulnerability, threat of harm, responsibility and pain and physical and emotional stress. Birth often affects women more than they anticipated it will.

Our aim is that pregnancy and birth has an optimal influence on families and serves as a continual source of empowerment to parents throughout their parenting experience.

There is nothing more I love then observing pregnancy, birth and new motherhood enrich the lives of new families.
